Kaga is known as a mecca of Japanese lacquerware.
And SHIBANO has been one of the best Makie artist in Kaga.
The motif is Kingfisher on River (aiming fish in the
river
).
A kingfisher and water current are well expressed with Makie technique (photo #7 - 8).
The inside surface
is covers by Nashiji (a technique of Japanese lacquerware) photo # 9 - 10.
The wooden box is original signed by the artist.
