Lions Club Pins: MILITARY MEMORABILLIA from ALAMEDA NAVAL AIR STATION, CA

These pins were issued by the Vallejo Host Lions with an emphasis on things that happened at the Alameda Naval Air Station during the war years.  The larger pins were issued in pairs starting in 1983 for 5 years.  For the club's 50th anniversary the small set was done as a 10 pin group.
Great set of pins for a history buff or someone who just wants a piece of history from the old Naval Air Station.  Google states that there were 18,000 employees working there during its heyday.  It's sad to say that this club folded shortly after the government shut down the base and many of the club members left the area due to the loss of their jobs.
