    Description

Lot of 4 Franciscan "Desert Rose" Soup BOWLS with Wide Flat Rims, unmarked, 1960's era, made in the USA
All dishware is of the same era.  These bowls measure 8.5" across in diameter, and 1.5" high.
These bowls do not have a back stamp other than a small tiny number mark.  I did some research and found they were possibly manufactured in or around 1963, and in the United States.
The three dot marks on each bottom of the bowls indicates how they were held on a tripod in the kiln.  I read somewhere that the wide flat rim is meant to lay the soup crackers on.
These beautiful bowls have very little wear, appear to have not been used much, no scratching on the inside of the bowls from flatware utensils.  There are no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs, and no crazing.  The only issue is a small paint fleck on one of the bowls on the top rim near the edge (see picture).  It is a flea bite size.
